Heavy rains postpone the afternoon session of the Internet medium in Non-Profit Sharing

Last Saturday, August 18, 2007, Non-Profit Sharing's the internet-medium-day got cut short because of the heavy rains that was brought forth by the aftermath of the storm Egay. Not only was it hazardous for the students, but also for our speakers Manuel L. Quezon III and Alecks Pabico who literally advised us that they were on a "rain check". However, the event, we believe, still managed to put on a good show as William Yu, CISSP, Abe Olandres, and Ruben Canlas, Jr. really tickled the minds of our participants with regards to their internet strategies. The morning's title - Trends of the Future: Reeducation of the Internet Movement - truly served its purpose as our 3 speakers covered so much base with Sir William on the direction of media towards the "3rd and 4th screens" (3rd - Internet and the computer; 4th - mobile devices), Sir Abe on the web's abundant, available and free tools that can be used to have a strong internet presence, and finally with Sir Ruben's best practices to build a strategic and sound website. Here are some feedback regarding the said session: "Narealize ko ang daming possibilities." "Very interesting, helpful, practical and informative." "Good resource speakers! I was updated with new things." "Each of the speakers were very focused and organizaed in their presentation which made them effective. They specifically adhered questions with relevant answers." The 2nd half of the internet session will be moved to August 25 together with the day's session on Music and Radio. Thus, we will be starting earlier, by 8am. For participants, please come 10-15 minutes before the start for registration. Thank you to the JesCom staff, the participants, the speakers (William Yu, Abe Olandres, and Ruben Canlas Jr.) for braving the storm last Saturday. All efforts will definitely not be lost in vain.
